    CARNAGE!

This was a cracking night at the Black Swan. Not as busy as the one before but it was better! Better music, better vibe! The Mashman hosted the sideroom with the Out of Phase Crew with Sets from Ikkaku, D-Gelo, Primal Kaos, & Mashman. We had it grooving all night in there. My set was very poor :( due to a combination of edgy/angry mood, wornout by night before & setting up all day, computer being shit & hanging etc, and not having preplanned a set. Oh well....im gonna format the computer with a win98 partition especially for traktor & maybe ableton live on there too. & i will plan the next set. keep finding new cracking tunes which are hardedged &danceable! So i can put together a sexyfunkyhavinitset! YAY! No guarantees my mood will be any better next time tho. If i can extinguish potential problems atleast this should lean towards a more enjoyable state of mind!

    Love Art @the Spyglass

A collaboration of work by Lisa thorn, Ruth Crawford, Jo King, Eva Hoerner, Matt Prescott, Chloe Grove.

Hand built vessels, slumped glass, felt jewelry, photography, animation, print, painting.

(i just copied that off the flyer....)

An interesting exhibition of works by these artists. I specifically went along to see Jo's work as she had invited me to see her felt jewelery. I discovered that there was also to be a fashion show that evening featuring girls (& boys!) in corsets made by a friend of Jo. The models also to wear the felt jewelry. With a pro-shoot. oh and lots of Sangria. So i stayed for that. well y'know to enjoy the art!

Simon (whose floor i crashed out on last weekend) was also there to model a hat. I think i successfully worried him by keep telling him that he had to wear only the hat whilst modeling...hehehhehe!

There was also a lovely italian girl called Simone who I helped with putting up decor (ivy & red banners). I made some comment about finding it hard work tying all these knots with string & she informed me that tying knots was what she did for a living!!! :-o *this was accompanied by wicked laugh ;)*

Simone modelling a felt necklace by Jo King

Doodle by the Mashman & coloured in by Maia, George, Sian. It is interesting how kids just love colouring in pictures! Im Amazed that 3 of them worked on it together...especially George as he only seems to like guns, swords, and making lots of noise!

    Crazy Circus @Lakota

A free party @ lakota. This night was really about room2 hosted by micropoint records & featuring most of the MashArt. Looked good. Felt good. Sounded awesome. A really enjoyable night. Even tho i was very snoozey by end ZZZzzzz. Think i pestered some girls a bit. im not very articulate when fekked & hav a one track mind when it comes to girls! oh well! hehehheheh!

    some photos of the night

Feels like i must make some more decor soonish cos i am gettin bored of seeing the same stuff. Just gotta make the time to get creative. If only i had more time for all things fun!

    Its 2006! oh YAY!

and i have been mash busy doing mash.

Yes long time since last entry. But me love you long time baby!

What has happened in the meantime?
    Wibbly scooby-doo flash back moment...

    19th November 2005
Metro Tempo at the Black Swan.

Fun but very empty. Oh well. It happens. Still i got to play lots of tunes to myself in the sideroom. Guess you learn from these experiences about what you can do to avoid them in the future. I think Que would do well to change location to a smaller more central venue which isnt full of complete munters!

    17th December 2005
    Out of Phase, Arc Bar.

Another quiet night due to Giant Robot having Andy Weatherall and Radioactive Man playing at the Blue mountain. Went down there after OOp finished at 3am to discover taht the Blue Mountain was rammed. They turned us away initially (even though we had a special invitation to get in late!) but we managed to find a way ;). Was very good fun in there. Then a cold walk home. Brr.

    30th December 2005
Lydia & Rich & Gee & Simon's NYE eve party

Pretty good i decored their living room with a load of drapes and put some Carnage decor up in the hallways. Looked superb. Played an electro set. Went down well even though i train tracked a couple of mixes by trying to mix tunes that were really not suited for mixing into one another. ok so i have to do some more practise. Heheheh! Not bad though considering i was completly doing the set on the fly! And people enjoyed the tunes :)

    31st December NYE 2005
just being a party goer. House pary in Bedminster then on to the Black Swan for Ripsnorter which i did enjoy. Although i was feeling a bit poisoned from all the alcohol i drank the day before! So i was home & tucked up in bed by 2.30 cos i was too sketched out :(

    20th January 2006
    Rich & Lyds birfdees!

more decor. more brandy. more fekked. passed out half underneath the bed!

    21st January 2006
    Out of Phase, Arc Bar.

New decor up. ok so i only managed to get round to doing 3 pieces which are strectchy thin wedges which i put behind the Djs. Looked good to me though. I was gonna put them on the ceiling but have yet to make them flame retardant. Plus i need more wedges to get the desired effect. But given previous experience at arc bar. It is too tempting for some pissed up muppet to rip down decor from the ceiling. The ceiling is too low for me to want to tempt fate again!

Awesome night! lots of peeps. Gr8 atmosphere. Gr8 music. Lots peeps i hadnt seen in a while! all :) ended up at Mr Wolfs afterwards. Very drunken walk home at 7am.

Hmmmmm. Should really make some tracks myself. Just dont often feel in the mood for learning how to use all that music creation software. I really wanna make some dark electro weirdness. Except i have no idea what i would sound like. Kinda like my pics. I know what i want to achieve. but have no idea how to make it or what it will actually be. Well i gotta try to find it. Before i decide to do some damn awful full-time job in a call centre or selling ice cream to penguins. Which would completly destroy me. Damn the money making muppets and the monstrous corporations of over consumption.

Out of Phase, Arc Bar. 23rd Sept.
Out of Phase was excellent! Took a wihle to warm up. But the beats & groovin was good. Enjoyed Underground Louis set athough he could really done without the awfully cheesy track he dropped halfway through. with the lyrics "im in love" repeated over & over. or is it just cos im such a miserable masher? Farluca & D-gelo (residents) played good sets and i especially enjoyed the techno D-gelo banged out for the last 3/4 of an hour.

Decor loked good. Although it the gaffer tape began peeling off during the last half hour of the nite. So i was kept busy rescuing drapes before the hit the floor! With All that sweat and very dusty wall fixings where i taped onto i was amazed they stayed up that long anyway!

Here's a pic of some decor ("meduser" & "death by geometry") taken at the start of the night(click to view fullsize):

    OK OK oKK......
    okki! okkki! okkki!
    ogg. ogg. ogg.

i WILL explain WHY i am AGGRAVATED!

The postal service that shall be known as parcel farce. Customer Service! You WHAT! dont make me grimace any more than i am already or is shall cause my teeth to crumble under the pressure of extreme grimmacing.

Yes Parcel farce are SHITE. for the following reasons:

    1. Charging me £13.50 just to "process" a parcel through customs. ie. tell customs that the value of the contents of my parcel is £ X. This info is stated on the parcel by the sender. So that customs can tax me £ Y. ooooh that was £13.50 of extremely hard work is it not????

    2. Attempt to deliver the parcel whilst i am on holiday (yes i know thats not their fault at all!) and they want the money so naturally nobody in my house is going to pay it. Fair enough. However parcel farce leave me 2 letters stating different amounts of money that they want from me. Tch IF you are gonna try and fleece me AT LEAST BE CONSISTENT!

    3. I arrive home from holiday and have to check out what i owe and why it is sooo much with Customs and establish what is the correct amount i owe because parcel farce neglect to tell me that £ X is their cut and £ Y is the Customs tax and they tell me the wrong amount in one letter.

    4. Try and contact Parcel Farce to pay correct fees and arrange redelivery. Spend over 40mins on hold when i contact local delivery office. So i hang up. Look for some other means of contacting them. Find National help line number. Phone that. Discover that whilst i was on hold earlier that the parcel was scheduled for return to sender. However Parcel Farce representitive says that she will contact the relevent depot and arrange for redelivery. I wait 5days. Then check parcel status and it is still looking like its going back to sender. Cant do anything until after weekend because office is closed. Check again sfter weekend and its in the USA! Oh thats just fukkkkkkiiiing GREAT! thannk you very fukkkkkking much you idiots!

    5. Send email of complaint to Parcel Farce. Still no response after 10 days! Despite an auto response saying they will contact me within 48hrs. So i have sent another email. I give them 7 days to respond before lodging official complaint with the postal service regulators.

So i am still without the airbrush parts i need. Thought i was gonna get a bargain by ordering from the states. Forgot about the stupid import tax. But thats only a tenner. But the £13.50 parcel farce processing fee is a joke! Even so this would make the goods about the same cost as in the uk (in fact a few pounds cheaper!) But im gonnna order form a Uk company this time. In fact theres only one company i have seen that has what i need in stock. Or i will order from the local art shop if the owner is about. would have done that in the first place but he was away when i visited before. This whole experience has been a complete mashup! and therefore qualifies as MASH. :p

    LAbel my bagel......
Today i was soooo bored that i decided to play a game in which I label objects in my house as being some other object, then i have to act as though the object is the one describef on the label and not what it actually is in everyday reality.

For Example: Put a sticker labelled "TOASTER" on the television, Put a sticker labelled "SOCK DRAWER" on the toaster. Put a sticker labelled "REFRIDGERATOR" on the sock drawer. Put a sticker labelled "LINEN BASKET" on the refridgerator. Put a sticker labelled "TOOL BOX" on the linen basket. Put a sticker labelled "TOILET" on the tool box (or should that be stool box hehehhe!). Put a sticker labelled "TELEVISION" on the toilet.

AHAHAHHAHHHAAAA! that was such fun. But i cannot understand why the people in my house were sooooooo upset????? It was only a bit of FUN after all! Tch! some people really dont have a sense of humour!

    CARNAGE was a success!!!

I was happy with the way the decor turned out for the main room. Stripery fabric looked excellent, as did the metal pipes hanging in front of the Djs. Wish That I had some more of those pipes. And the storage space to keep them! The drapes could have been better illuminated. Next time i will get some UV strips directly above them. Food for thought on the Metro-Tempo Decor. Will be painting some border-drapes plus embellishing the drapes i gave with some border art.

Its also exciting that Out of Phase wouldlike to have my decor at their night! :) Next one is at the Arc Bar on Friday 23rd September. hopefully I shall have some more pieces to take down there too.

My DJ set was well received. Which make me :) Im sure my mixing was atrocious in places! but several people said that they enjoyed the music i played :)

Ques LIVE set on AMCS was awesome! The crowd loved it. Especially the The sponge bob track! and the soundsystemtesting track! i hope he presses some vinyl of these sometime!

All in all a top night! you can view some photos by clicking here

    Airbrush Pattie
Today I have mostly been eating chips & vegetable pattie...

In the news.....The jamaican pattie factory in Birmingham burned down not so long ago.....ARGGGHHHH!
However, a new source of patties has been located by many local pattie outlets and although they are not as good as the originals they R satisfactory. My life was only momentarily thrown into turmoil. phew!

Also in the news....I have started work on some more drapes. Hope i getr them finished in tim efopr CARNAGE. I need to complete 2 drapes a day between now and next weekend. Then i can rest up.

And lastly...I have been fantasising about ownning an airbrush mmmmmmmm! WOW! I can only imagine that it would be lots of fun to use and make painting drapes on this fire retardant polyester much easier. mmmmmmm airbrush & compressor mmmmmm spray art mmmmmm no stinky expensive wasteful crude aerosol tins anymore!
